Windy Point News Spring 2009 Dear Windy Point Family,
We had to have one real good freeze and now we can concentrate on spring and start to make our plans for the summer. And while most have not been thinking about the pool, the Board of Directors has been very busy during the off season.
· First, membership casted ballots for Director positions. This is the first time in several years that we have a full Board of Directors. All are hard workers and committed to keeping Windy Point a great place for our families.
· We are renewing our contract with Douglas Aquatics to manage our pool for another season. Their commitment to safety and service was excellent last year.
· The Board selected Catie Brewster, a coach for the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins, as the Swim Team Coach for this year. Assisting her will be John Gayk.
· The pool is currently undergoing renovations to the deck area. We are having the electrical system around the pool updated and new concrete poured to provide a safer surface.
· The Board also voted to replace 3 skimmers. These are used to help circulate and filter the water.
· A new federal regulation went into effect in December requiring special covers for filtration systems to prevent entrapment. Windy Point will be replacing 3 drain covers to be in compliance with this safety mandate.
· Look for our new Website. It will keep you updated on pool happenings for you and the family.
If you have new neighbors, tell them about Windy Point. Invite them to the Open House so they can experience the warm and friendly atmosphere of Yorktown.
See you at the deep end!
Maggie Haley, President

Membership Directory
Several members have voiced an interest in having a Windy Point family directory. Such a directory could include adult members’ names, address, phone, email, and/or childrens’ names. All information would be subject to each member’s approval.
On the enclosed membership card you will see a small box next to each piece of information that can be included in a directory. Please put a check next to each piece of information that you would like printed in the directory. If you do not wish to have any information included please mark the box on the back of the card.
Publication of a directory will be determined by the interest shown on the membership cards.
