New Members:

If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind on a warm summer day, to meet new people, to get your kids involved in swim lessons or a swim team, or to enjoy adult and family activities, Windy Point is the place to be.  WPRA is currently accepting registrations for new members and we would like to welcome you to our family. 

We would be happy to send you a new member packet with all the info you will need to learn about our facility.  Please contact Lisa Angwin, Membership Chairman, via email (lbgangwn@cox.net) or by phone (874-0473) so we can send a packet to you or with any questions you may have.

Please note:  WPRA is a member owned pool and  as you can see from the fee structure below, a stock fee of $400 is collected at the beginning of the second year of membership (members may select to pay the stock fee the first year if they so choose).  This fee is in addition to the annual dues, but is a one time payment and is refundable upon membership resignation as long as the member’s account is in good standing.

Returning Members:

NEW MEMBERSHIP FORMS:

We will be making use of a new registration form this year.  This replaces the card that members have filled out in previous years.  Please note there is additional information being gathered on this form.  Please read BOTH sides and fill out completely using the guidelines on the form, in the newsletter below and in the WPRA Rules & Regulations.  Then, mail the form along with the appropriate fee(s) to: Windy Point Recreation Association, PO Box 1377, Yorktown, VA, 23692, attn: Membership. All membership forms and fees must be mailed in or given directly to Lisa Angwin, membership chairman.  No membership transactions will be accepted by lifeguards at the pool.

Fee Structure 2010

All current members are obligated to pay the appropriate annual dues/fees or the inactive fee by May 1, 2010.  A $25 late fee will be applied after May 15, 2010 postmarked date.  Similarly, should you wish to resign your Membership, the Board must receive your letter declaring your resignation postmarked by May 15, 2009 (please see explanation under “Membership Status”).

Membership Status

              New Members

New members are welcomed to join at any time.  Please contact the membership chairman for more details.

Current, Non-Stockholding Members

Those who have been members of the pool for one season and waived all or part of their stock purchase must complete their stock purchase of $400 and pay Annual Dues of $325 by May 1, 2010.  Payment may be made in as many as four installments with the final payment being due by the May 1^st deadline. Late fee applied after May 15^th.

Current, Stockholding Members

Members who have paid their $400 stock need only pay the annual dues of $325 by May 1, 2010.  Payment may be made in as many as three installments before May 1^st.  Late fee applied after May 15^th.

            Senior Members

Any member who has attained age 60 prior to May 15, 2010 and has been a stockholding member for at least 5 years prior to May 15^th may become a Senior Member upon approval from the Board. Only husband and/or wife will be eligible. Children, grandchildren, or other persons residing in the member’s house will not be allowed under this option. If the oldest of a couple meets the requirements, then both shall be considered Senior Members. Letters requesting a change to senior status must be received by May 1, 2010 and should be mailed to the Windy Point address attn: Membership.

Inactive Status

A stockholding member who will not be using the Association’s facilities this summer may elect an Inactive Status for the 2010 season by paying a holding fee of $50 by May 1, 2010 and again should be mailed to the Windy Point address attn: Membership. After May 15^th the Member will be responsible for paying the $325 annual fee plus the $25 late fee.  Please note, an inactive member is defined, according to the WPRA Rules & Regs, as one who will not be using the pool facilities for the season.  All family members are included.  The Board has voted to allow inactive members to come as a guest of another member a total of 10 times throughout the season. Please note: If inactive status is chosen for a given year, participation on swim team is not permitted during that season.

          Resignations

Any member who does not wish to continue membership for the 2010 season needs to submit a letter of resignation along with the stock certificate to the Windy Point address attn: Membership. postmarked by May 15, 2010.  Once the Board has approved the resignation of a “member in good standing”  (account up to date and no money owed), a check refunding the member’s stock payment will be mailed to the resigning member within one year of the resignation.  If the member’s account shows any amounts due those fees will be  deducted from the stock reimbursement.

           Guest Passes

Daily guest passes are $5/person and are available at the pool.  A packet of 10 passes may be purchased for $35 at the pool from the lifeguard on duty. 

Weekly and monthly guest passes for out of town guests are also available, but must be purchased directly from the Membership Chairman.
