Membership Information:
The Windy Point Family grew during the 2008 season and by August we were up to 211 member families! Welcome back to all of you! We would, of course, like to see the WP Family continue to grow in 2009. A new program was initiated last season whereby letters were sent to folks that have moved into the area in the past year inviting them to come check us out. In addition, we would like to encourage all returning members to invite people that you know to give Windy Point a try. We are looking forward to a great 2009 season!
The procedure for membership will remain the same as last year. All members should fill out the enclosed Membership Card for the 2009 season according to the guidelines below and mail it, along with the appropriate fee(s) to Windy Point Recreation Association, PO Box 1377, Yorktown, VA, 23692, attn: Membership. All membership cards and fees must be mailed in or given directly to Lisa Angwin, membership chairman. No membership transactions will be accepted by lifeguards at the pool.
Fee Structure 2009
Membership dues for the 2009 season will remain at $300. In order to appropriately plan the 2009 budget and to ensure that we have the funds for continued support and upkeep of the pool, we ask that you abide by the registration deadline.
All current members are obligated to pay the appropriate annual dues/fees or the inactive fee by May 1, 2009. A $25 late fee will be applied after May 15, 2009 postmarked date. Similarly, should you wish to resign your Membership, the Board must receive your letter declaring your resignation postmarked by May 15, 2009 (please see explanation under “Membership Status”).

Membership Status
New Members
New members are welcomed to join at any time. Please contact the membership chairman for more details.
Current, Non-Stockholding Members
Members who joined the pool last year and waived all or part of their stock purchase must complete their stock purchase of $400 and pay Annual Dues of $300 by May 1, 2009. Payment may be made in as many as four installments before May 1st.
Current, Stockholding Members
Members who have paid their $400 stock need only pay the annual dues of $300 by May 1, 2009. Payment may be made in as many as three installments before May 1st.
Senior Members
Any member who has attained age 60 prior to May 15, 2009 and has been a stockholding member for at least 5 years prior to May 15th may become a Senior Member upon approval from the Board. Only husband and/or wife will be eligible. Children, grandchildren, or other persons residing in the member’s house will not be allowed under this option. If the oldest of a couple meets the requirements, then both shall be considered Senior Members. Letters requesting a change to senior status must be received by May 1, 2009 and should be mailed to the Windy Point address attn: Membership.
Inactive Status
A stockholding member who will not be using the Association’s facilities this summer may elect an Inactive Status for the 2009 season by paying a holding fee of $50 by May 1, 2009 and again should be mailed to the Windy Point address attn: Membership.
After May 15th the Member will be responsible for paying the $300 Annual Fee plus the $25 late fee.
Resignations
Any member who does not wish to continue membership for the 2009 season needs to submit a letter of resignation along with the stock certificate to the Windy Point address attn: Membership postmarked by May 15, 2009. Once the Board has approved the resignation of a “member in good standing” (account up to date and no money owed), a check refunding the member’s stock payment will be mailed to the resigning member within one year of the resignation. If the member’s account shows any amounts due, those fees will be deducted from the stock reimbursement.
Guest Passes
Daily guest passes are $5/person and are available at the pool. A packet of 10 passes may be purchased for $30 at the pool from the lifeguard on duty.
Weekly and monthly guest passes for out of town guests are also available, but must be purchased directly from the Membership Chairman.
